January 30, 2009, Newsletter Issue #3: How to Make a Pet First Aid Kit

Tip of the Week

You have gauze in the medicine cabinet, a muzzle in the cupboard over the washer and a clean towel in the bathroom, so you don't need to worry about a pet first aid kit, right? Wrong. If your pet is injured, you'll be spending valuable time running from room to room gathering supplies instead of being able to go to one location to grab them. Luckily you can learn how to make a pet first aid kit so you can provide emergency care fast.

To make your kit, you'll need an easily portable container, like a new toolbox or tackle box. Gather all your supplies from around the house, put them in the box and then create a checklist of supplies that you can tape or glue to the inside of the box lid to use as an inventory so you know what is in the box. Close the newly stocked box and stow it where it will be easily accessible in case you ever have a pet emergency.
