Your dog has unsightly tear stains. On top of that, the stained area on its little face is very smelly. You need to find pet grooming instructions that will help you get rid of those tear stains before your party guests arrive or your sociable pup will be spending the evening in its crate instead of being the star of the whole evening.
Tear stains can be tough to clean up when they aren't taken care of on a daily basis. However, it is possible to do a quick fix to get rid of the smell, which is probably caused by yeast. Wet a cloth in warm water and hold it gently on the area under your pet's eyes for a minute. Then, carefully wipe the matter away.
If the matter is really caked on or your pet won't tolerate the wet cloth, you may have to carefully cut the tear stained hair away. While the end result isn't a very flattering look, you will temporarily get rid of the odor.
Once your party is over, head to the vet's office to find out if your pet does have a yeast problem. Your vet can help you clear it up and can recommend a product to treat tear stains on a daily basis, as well.
