May 28, 2010, Newsletter Issue #70: Prepare for Pet Air Travel

Tip of the Week

You need to travel with your pet. You can just take it to the airport, step onto the plane and go, right? Actually, before you plan on pet air travel, you'll need to do a few things.

First, check with the airline to see what special requirements it has. You may find that your pet is not allowed to fly if it is too hot or cold outside or that the airline charges an extra fee for certain types of travel. Next, plan a visit to your vet for a health certificate and to update current vaccinations. Finally, shop for a crate that is approved for air travel.
