A dog or cat that contracts heart-worm disease could become very ill. Your pet can get heart worms from a mosquito bite. The mosquito will lay their larvae and the heart worm will live your pet’s heart and lungs and grow into adults. Things to watch for in your pet, difficulty breathing, tiredness, coughing, weight loss, gagging, and loss of appetite. Prevention is the key and give your pet the once a month heart worm medication.
