July 10, 2009, Newsletter Issue #25: Dangerous Foods for Pets

Tip of the Week

You like to give your pets people foods as a treat, but there's nothing wrong with that, right? Actually, it isn't always safe to feed people food to your four legged or feathered friend. There are many dangerous foods for pets. Some of these foods are pretty obvious, but others may surprise you.

You probably know that dogs shouldn't have chocolate. Did you know that raisins, certain types of mushrooms, onions and some nuts can also be dangerous for dogs? These things are especially dangerous if the dog eats them in large amounts. Caffeine can also be a bad idea, especially if your dog decides to gulp down that entire mocha latte you had sitting on the coffee table.
