August 28, 2009, Newsletter Issue #32: Curing Cancer in Pets

Tip of the Week

Your pet has cancer. Is there any chance of recovery? As recently as a few decades ago, curing cancer in pets was not very likely. However, there have been drastic improvements in cancer research and treatment over the years and there are vets who now specialize in treating cancer in pets.

Of course, the success of the treatment will depend on the age and overall health of the pet, the type of cancer and how quickly the disease was diagnosed. Talk to your vet about the recommended course of treatment. If you don't feel confident with your vet's diagnosis and treatment recommendations, ask for a second opinion from a vet who specializes in cancer treatment.
