Chow chows are like large teddy bears and all chows have two common persistant medical problems that need to be cared for ever now and then. Chow allways have the problem of their eyelashes curling inwards towards their eyes causing tearing. You can have surgury on the dogs eyes lids to prevent this problem. Or you can use an eye ointment available from your vet.
The other problem that seem to plague chow chows is they have chronic ear infections. You need to have the hair shaved form the inner ear so air can circulate in the ear canals. Somtimes chow chows ear infection could become very bad to where you will smell a foul odor coming from the ears. In this case your chow chow need to be seen bay a vet and have their ears cleaned and prescribed antibiotics.
