June 12, 2009, Newsletter Issue #21: Creating a Balanced, Healthy Pet Diet for Seed Eaters

Tip of the Week

When you are feeding your pet a prepared diet, it should be balanced and healthy. However, this isn't always the case. If you are feeding a pet bird a diet that is almost all seeds or are feeding your hamster something similar, you will need to modify your menu to give your little friend a healthy pet diet.

As you research your pet's nutritional needs, you will probably find that it needs fresh vegetables, fruit and beans along with all of that grain. Multigrain cereal is also a good choice for seed eaters that tend to gravitate toward peanuts and sunflowers instead of eating a variety of seeds.
