April 16, 2010, Newsletter Issue #64: Pet Toy Safety Concerns

Tip of the Week

You keep hearing about recalls for children's toys, food and other items. Should you be worrying about pet toy safety? Unfortunately, pet toys, treats and food items can be unsafe just as easily as anything else can.

If you are concerned about whether a toy or treat is safe, your first step should be a visit to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website. Many recall notices are available on the site. To double check recall information, you may also want to visit the manufacturer site, because recalls made by the manufacturer don't always make it to the CPSC site.
