April 3, 2009, Newsletter Issue #11: Small Pet Exercising

Tip of the Week

It is easy to get your dog some exercise. Just snap on the leash and head out the door. Small pet exercising can be a bit more challenging, but, with a bit of creativity, you can help your little critter stay in shape.

For hamsters, gerbils and mice, one great option is to shop for a cage that includes tunnels and tube options. To get your little guy moving, simply put a small piece of apple or a baby carrot in the tube that is furthest from its current resting spot. Your small pet will soon smell that tasty treat and start hustling off in search of it.
