January 8, 2010, Newsletter Issue #51: Organic Gardening Helps with Pet Poison Prevention

Tip of the Week

Pet poison prevention is one simple way owners can help their pets live long and healthy lives. Many times, keeping pets safe is as simple as putting baby safe locks on doors and keeping things like antifreeze off the floor. Other times, it can be a bit tougher, but the extra effort is worth it to keep your pet safe.

Moving to organic gardening methods is one great way to avoid accidentally poisoning your pet. Slug pellets, weed killers and even granular fertilizers are things that could be fatal if your pet accidentally ingested them or walked through them and then licked its feet.
