August 13, 2010, Newsletter Issue #81: Solutions for a green cloudy fish tank

Tip of the Week

Fish are very dirty pets believe it or not and their tanks could become dirty quickly  with slime and gunk down in the rocks and around the glass. The waste and left over food settle in the bottom of the tank and can cloud the water.

The best way to fix this is remove the fish then move the rocks around the bottom of the tank to stir up all of the waste. Then start scooping all of the water out of the tank. You will need to remove all of the water can. Then you will need to refill the tank with fresh water. Add anew filter, and the aqua safe liquid and clarifier.

Let the filter run for about one hour and it should become crystal clear. Then add the fish back in  and you will have a clean and clear tank.
